QR tags on your fire extinguishers, eyewash stations and exit lights. Your own crew scans each routine check on their phone. The record shows who checked it, when, where, and what they saw. A missed check is flagged as missed. It is never counted as a pass.
Example record. Names and times are illustrative.
Put a NotifyMe tag on each item and set its schedule: monthly extinguisher checks, weekly eyewash flushes, monthly emergency light tests.
The inspector signs in once per shift, scans the tag, works through the checklist and takes a photo where the item needs one.
A missed check or a failed item that hasn't been fixed raises an alert to the person you choose. A failure stays open until someone records the repair.
Hand your auditor an Excel or CSV pack, or send each result to the safety software you already use.
A paper tag can be initialled at the end of the month without anyone walking the floor. A NotifyMe record carries the evidence with it.
COR audits check that inspections happen as often as your program says, that problems get fixed on time, and that defective equipment stays out of use. The dashboard is laid out the same way.
| What the auditor asks | What you show them |
|---|---|
| Are inspections done as often as your program says? | Schedule versus completed, by equipment type and area, for any period. |
| Which ones were missed? | A list of every missed check with its due date. Missed checks are never blank and never shown as passed. |
| Were problems fixed on time? | A deficiency log with risk rank, owner, target date, the action taken, the close date and who verified it. |
| Is defective equipment kept out of use? | The items tagged out of service, and since when. |
| Who did the inspections, and were they trained? | Every inspector, the checks they signed, and their training date. |
Mapped to the Energy Safety Canada 2023 COR audit protocol (Element D, Inspections) and the BC COR audit (Element 4, Inspections). Using NotifyMe Inspect does not by itself meet any audit requirement. Your program and your auditor decide that.
These are the routine checks your own trained staff are allowed to do. Annual service and hydrostatic testing stay with certified contractors. We remind you when they're due and record that they happened.
In place and unblocked, gauge in the green, pin and seal intact, no damage, tag current.
Clear access, activates with full flow, water runs clear, caps in place.
Exit sign lit, charge light on, test button lights the lamps on battery.
Planned next: first aid kits, AEDs, naloxone kits, spill kits and gas detector bump tests. Each one is added only after we've checked the rule that governs it.
It keeps proof that a check happened, flags the checks that didn't, and tells the right person when something failed and wasn't fixed.
Your named inspector does the check and stays accountable for it. Any automated photo review only flags doubtful photos for a person to look at.
Results can go to the EHS or safety software you already run, by webhook or by file. You don't have to move your program onto ours.
Inspection records and photos are stored in Canada (Montreal). NotifyMe is an owner alert system, not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911.
We're setting up the first pilot sites in Alberta and BC now. Tell us how many extinguishers, eyewash stations and exit lights you have, and roughly how many people do the checks.
